Top 3 Factors To Consider When Choosing Home Gym Equipment In Singapore

I used to go to a fitness centre near my home every other day for my exercise and training. But when the pandemic affected the country, my gym temporarily closed to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus. It was when I started training at home with a few basic gym equipment pieces in Singapore.

When I realised it was possible to do my usual routine at home, I decided to establish my home gym. So I started browsing the internet for gym equipment leasing and sale on the internet.

3 Factors To Consider When Choosing Gym Equipment

If you have no money to invest in gym equipment, you can either lease or improvise alternatives. For example, you can replace dumbbells with plastic bottles with water.

But if you have enough resources to invest in gym equipment, you might as well spend it on high-quality ones that you will definitely use for a long time.

Here are the factors I considered when buying gym equipment pieces in Singapore:

1. CONSIDER YOUR NEEDS

People go to the gym for various purposes. Some go to the gym to reduce weight, while others want to strengthen and tone their muscles. In my case, I was focused on building my muscles.

For muscle toning, the commercial fitness equipment pieces I invested in are the pull-up bar, leg extension machine, and bench press. The pull-up bar helps build the chest and arms muscles, while the leg extension machine develops the leg muscles around the knees. On the other hand, the bench press is for the chest, arm, and back muscles.

Now if your goal is to reduce belly fat, you should invest in treadmills, ellipticals, and stationary bikes. Remember, the gym equipment you should have must meet your needs and exercise habits.

2. CONSIDER YOUR BUDGET

The next thing I considered was my budget. Gym equipment can be pricey, from dumbbell sets to gym flooring in Singapore. Usually, big machines, such as bench press and hammer-strength machines are expensive. But there are ways not to exceed and to stay within your budget.

The first way is gym equipment leasing. You can rent a piece of equipment how long you want and pay for it monthly.

The second way is to buy second-hand equipment. Used equipment is cheaper than brand new ones, but be extra thorough when expecting second-hand equipment.

The third way is to find alternatives. As mentioned, you can replace some gym tools with improvised ones.

3. CONSIDER YOUR HOME SPACE

The last consideration is your home space. If you have limited space for your home gym, you cannot buy gigantic commercial fitness equipment in Singapore, such as the treadmill, hammer-strength machine, and leg extension machine. They will cramp up your space.

Instead, look for workout alternatives. For example, you need a bench press to build your chest and arm muscles. Alternative workouts that develop the same muscles would be pushups, dumbbell chest presses, and incline and decline dumbbell presses. After all, a dumbbell set consumes less space than a bench press.

These are the factors I considered when I bought my home fitness equipment. I hope these tips will help you in your journey to creating your home gym.
