Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC)

HVAC is a technology that offers comfort. It is a system that incorporates fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and heat transfer. HVAC providers can install the system in residential homes, offices, industries, cars, trains, airplanes, and ships. Ventilation means replacing dirty air with high-quality air. They remove moist air, bad smells, dust, heat, and bacteria. Also, it regulates temperature. Ventilation of places is in two forms. There are natural ventilation and artificial done by the HVAC systems. Natural ventilation is where outside air enters the building without the use of fans.

Heaters are a source of warmth. Heating sources are significant in cold places. Once heat generation occurs, the processes that transfer the heat are conduction, convection, or radiation. The most common heat source is electricity. Heat appliances also have a danger. It can emit carbon dioxide, which is harmful to one’s health.

The air conditioning system is for cooling and controls the humidity. It uses the dehumidifier concept. It works by drawing warm air currents into its coils through the fans. The hot air contracts as it goes through the refrigerated waves of the machine. The condensation stays inside the HVAC. The system connects to a storage tank, so as the condensation happens, the water collects in the tank. Cool air is then released back into the house through the other side of the machine. 

The HVAC system has a refrigeration cycle that consists of a condensing coil, expansion valve, evaporator coil, and compressor.

Identification of the strategic location to place the HVAC system is essential. The user needs to set aside the right spot. The ideal location is under the floor. It ensures consistent distribution of conditioned air to all parts of the room. Also, the best systems are the ones that are energy saving. The providers install sensors on the network of the system. There are two sensors available in the market that are occupancy and light sensors. Occupancy sensors are for identifying how many people are using a particular place. The HVAC controls react depending on the sensors. As the word suggests, light sensors detect the daylight in a room and adjust it to favorable levels. When it comes to size, HVAC experts are in a better position to advise the companies. 

Relationship between HVAC and workplace productivity

High temperatures and stuffy air in the office distracts the employees and makes them uncomfortable. Proper ventilation ensures the air quality is heightened by bringing fresh air and cooling the room. 

Adequate ventilation ensures people get enough oxygen for the brain. The system expels carbon dioxide. Enough oxygen means high cognitive function. Thus, employees make better decisions, and productivity improves.

The decision to install an HVAC system is the decision of the management. They should weigh the costs and benefits of the system and make a decision. Also, one has to choose the HVAC provider that has the experience and affordable prices. 

 

HVAC and COVID 19

Recently COVID 19 pandemic hit the world. The healthcare professionals put in place protocols that where there is no overcrowding in small spaces. Adequate ventilation in rooms ensures there is a frequent circulation of air. Thus, the virus finds it hard to stay in those spaces. Poor ventilation creates a suitable environment for COVID 19 virus.

The system needs to be cleaned and sanitized. The pollutants in the air find their way into the system. Indoor air has impurities too. It makes the HVAC virus-free. Other than that, it ensures more efficiency and less power consumption. Cleaning also removes pests instead of using pesticides.

Owners of HVAC shops have a responsibility to keep their employees and technicians safe. Some of the safety clothing includes masks, protective glasses, gloves, and booties. Also, the employees need to keep disinfecting their work surfaces. During the current COVID 19 pandemic, the filters trap the virus articles, so proper disposal of the filters prevents the virus’s spread.

 

Salon and HVAC

A salon attracts customers due to two reasons. The first reason is quality services. Customers need to receive the hair care they need and the correct making of their hair. The second reason is a safe environment. Customers go to a salon to relax, and the last thing they need is to inhale chemicals and smoke from the hair dryers. An excellent smelling salon attracts many customers. Proper ventilation in a salon is a requirement for attracting customers.

Certain factors indicate salon needs ventilation. They include customers complain about the odors, fog on windows, and odors’ persistence even minutes after using them. 

In conclusion, HVAC is essential in controlling temperature and humidity.
